Tri-Flow Obsidian from Glass Butte, Oregon, is a mahogany obsidian variety featuring multiple flow patterns and grain currents that create mesmerizing designs. The obsidian between flow lines is often pure and nearly transparent when backlit or cut thin. Color comes from magnetite in the lava flow. This material is increasingly difficult to find, with most market slabs being old stock from earlier collecting.
