Sarape Jasper (also spelled Serape Jasper) comes from the Crazy Lace Mines in Mexico, where some miners market this material as Zebra Jasper. Named after traditional Sarape blankets, this Mexican jasper features patterns similar to Crazy Lace and is typically highly silicated, taking an excellent polish with relative ease for lapidary work. The red and black coloration in this jasper comes from higher iron content in the stone.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
