This stunning high-grade San Carlos Agate shows bright red, orange, blue, and what looks like it may even contain purple. The piece is highly silicated with a glossy texture across the surface. It looks set up to cut fantastic slabs for designer cabochons.

San Carlos Agate is impressive moss agate from near San Carlos, Mexico. This is a somewhat newer discovery, with attractive rough just now hitting the market. So far, with our cutting, we've been greatly enjoying this stone, as it has some well-defined moss with attractive coloration creating beautiful patterns. It also appears it will take a nice polish.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
The combination of red, orange, blue, and possible purple in one piece is unusually colorful for San Carlos. Glossy silicated surface indicates this is on the high end of what this newer Mexican deposit produces.
