This is a Black Oregon Agate from near Prineville, Oregon. This material is from an old estate sale. So far as I know, it was never mined or marketed. It does have some really nice looking plume and marcasite in some of it, but it is hard to photograph due to the darker color scheme and the poor lighting here. I have not worked any, so I'm unsure of how it does. It appears solid, but some voids are present. These could however be incorporated for a natural appearance to the cabochons, which is gaining popularity.
Some does appear to have marcasite plume, while others appear to have white and grey plume. I did see some with a backlight that looked phenomenal, but sadly we have a rainstorm over us.
At this great price, you won't want to miss out on this box.
Weight: Approx 21 Lbs
I do my best to represent the stones with photos. I don't enhance pictures, though sometimes brightness and contrast on monitors may differ, and while an image may look just like the rock on my end, it will sometimes appear brighter or duller on your end. I run my monitor using the default brightness and contrast settings.
