Ochoco Sunset Jasper Rough – Sunset Red and Oolitic Galaxy Pattern – Super Rare Old Stock Oregon
This old stock Ochoco Sunset Jasper shows two of the material’s best qualities: sunset red and an oolitic pattern like looking through a galaxy or up at the night sky. Some call it fish egg or frog egg pattern. A super rare chunk with excellent cutting potential from this scarce Oregon material.

Ochoco Sunset Jasper is an agate mined by Bill Quant in Oregon's Ochoco Mountains. It's a jasp-agate with considerable variety - it can have marcasite-like pattern, moss agate, fish egg patterns, and often features an attractive sunset-like scene with warm colors. Not much of this material ever reached the market, and the late Bill Quant's work makes it a memorial to his Oregon rockhounding legacy.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
The oolitic galaxy pattern is among the most striking looks this material produces. A large old stock chunk of a stone that rarely reached the market.
