Morrisonite Jasper Rough – streamer-like pattern – rare Eastern Oregon classic
This neat small trimmer of Morrisonite Jasper shows some of the unique streamer-like pattern that looks to have a lot going on under the skin. It comes from the legendary Morrison Ranch deposit in Eastern Oregon, one of the holy grails of Oregon jasper collecting. As a hard, high-silica jasper, it should reveal more pattern as it is cut and take a quality polish.

Morrisonite Jasper was a rare old Eastern Oregon classic orbicular jasper with exceptional quality. Morrisonite could come in multiple colors and often had orb-shaped structures within it, which created really impressive display slabs or remarkable cabochons. It was highly sought after, but after years of no mining, this jasper is very rare to come by today.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
The streamer-like pattern hints at plenty of activity beneath the skin, promising surprises as it is cut. Old stock no longer mined from the Morrison Ranch.
