Morrisonite Jasper Rough – green jasper with rolling hills pattern – rare Eastern Oregon classic
This neat small trimmer of Morrisonite Jasper shows off some of the green jasper this material was well known for, along with a soft rolling hills pattern across the face. It comes from the legendary Morrison Ranch deposit in Eastern Oregon, one of the holy grails of Oregon jasper collecting. As a hard, high-silica jasper, it should take a quality polish once worked.

Morrisonite Jasper was a rare old Eastern Oregon classic orbicular jasper with exceptional quality. Morrisonite could come in multiple colors and often had orb-shaped structures within it, which created really impressive display slabs or remarkable cabochons. It was highly sought after, but after years of no mining, this jasper is very rare to come by today.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
