Eagle Rock Plume Agate is a classic old stock material from Central Oregon near Prineville, representing important Oregon rockhounding history. Discovered in the 1940s by Shirley Quant, mining was delayed when someone else claimed it during his military service. The material features a variety of colors, well-defined moss agate, and red rhyolite that polishes nicely.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
This is the black marcasite variation rather than the typical multicolored Eagle Rock - a scarcer variant that produces darker, more dramatic cabochons when the plume reveals itself.
PERFECT FOR
• Cabochon cutting
• Oregon old stock collectors
• Plume agate hunters
