Old stock Eagle Rock Plume Agate rough with excellent angel wing botryoidal grape agate formation. From near Prineville, Oregon, this piece shows plume-like structure along the top, while below appears to be the iconic red rhyolite that defines this material. Personally, I would keep this one as a display - the angel wing formation is genuinely exceptional. Pieces like this are hard to find.

Eagle Rock Plume Agate is a classic old stock material from Central Oregon near Prineville, representing important Oregon rockhounding history. Discovered in the 1940s by Shirley Quant, mining was delayed when someone else claimed it during his military service. The material features a variety of colors, well-defined moss agate, and red rhyolite that polishes nicely. Some pieces display multicolored moss that creates exceptional cabochons highly valued by collectors.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
The angel wing botryoidal grape agate formation makes this a standout display specimen, not just rough. The red rhyolite below the plume structure is the signature Eagle Rock look. Nearly 3 kilograms of Oregon rockhounding history.
