Bronzite is an iron-rich variety of the mineral enstatite, part of the pyroxene group, and is known for its distinctive bronze-like metallic shimmer. This effect, called schillerization, occurs when iron separates along cleavage planes—producing a bold, flashy luster that makes for stunning cabochons. Bronzite is found in igneous and metamorphic rocks, and has even been identified in some meteorites. Its earthy tones and reflective sheen make it a unique and collectible material in the lapidary world.
