Agua Nueva Agate Slab – Butterscotch Pattern with Black Feldspar Splotches – Mexican New Water Ranch
This attractive slab showcases good butterscotch pattern combined with what appears to be black feldspar splotches creating unique character. The piece has a pink back tint adding color depth. While it does have a couple partially healed fractures to work around or may need treatment for cabbing, the neat pattern makes it well worth the effort for this increasingly scarce material.

Agua Nueva Agate is impressive material from Mexico near the Laguna Agate mining area. While it can sometimes have fortification, it's more commonly high-contrast, well-defined moss agate. The material tends to be fairly hard and solid, taking a mirror polish for exceptional jewelry. Agua Nueva translates to New Water agate and comes from the Agua Nueva Ranch. The material can occasionally have fractures but generally yields workable slabs for cabochons. Agua Nueva Agate is becoming increasingly difficult to source, particularly high-quality material with vivid moss formations.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
The butterscotch pattern combined with black feldspar splotches and pink tint creates unique visual interest. As increasingly scarce material, this represents valuable Mexican moss agate.
