Related to mahogany and Tri-Flow Obsidian, this material came from one of the original mines at Glass Butte, Oregon, where a unique vein was rapidly excavated. As one of the last remaining remnants of this material, this slab represents a piece of Oregon volcanic history that is unlikely to be reproduced.

Tiger Tail Obsidian is a rare old stock variety from Glass Butte, Oregon, blending rich mahogany hues with a sea of deep black. What sets this material apart is its soft, static-like banding where the mahogany flows through the black in subtle, ghostly wisp patterns that give the stone its name. This unique vein was rapidly excavated from one of the original mines, and very little material remains on the market today. The distinctive tiger tail patterning creates striking contrast that takes an excellent polish.
