Parker Shrinkwood cut and proven rough showing the signature shrinkwood pattern that has made this Colorado petrified wood so popular with collectors. The exterior features natural druzy quartz pockets adding standout display character. Personally tempting as a tower display at this size and shape, though it has plenty of cutting volume. Has a couple fractures to work around but the piece appears fairly stable.

Parker Shrinkwood is a rare type of petrified wood from the Late Paleocene epoch (about 55 million years old), discovered in the Dawson Arkose Formation near Parker, Colorado. The species is most commonly identified as Sycamore. It often features black and orange colors, sometimes in a tiger-stripe pattern, with visible wood grain. The characteristic broken breccia appearance comes from the wood having partly decayed and fragmented prior to silicating, with fractures naturally infilling with silica, quartz, and agate during permineralization.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
The combination of visible shrinkwood pattern on the cut face plus natural druzy pockets on the exterior makes this an unusually versatile fossil - either a display tower or a substantial cutter. 2.6+ kilograms of 55-million-year-old material from the famous Dawson Arkose Formation.
PERFECT FOR
• Tower display specimens
