Ochoco Sunset Agate Rough – Smoke and Cream with Dendrites – Old Stock Quant Collection
This stunning old stock chunk of Ochoco Sunset comes from the Quant collection. It carries smoke and cream pattern with dendrites, and one face has a black metallic coating that gives it real display character. Personally, I would keep this as a display piece rather than cut it.

Ochoco Sunset Agate is an agate mined by Bill Quant in Oregon's Ochoco Mountains. It's a jasp-agate with considerable variety - it can have marcasite-like pattern, moss agate, fish egg patterns, and often features an attractive sunset-like scene with warm colors. It takes a quality polish, though some iron-heavy types may need treatment due to pits. Sadly, the miner Bill Quant has passed away, making this material a memorial to his rockhounding legacy.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
The black metallic coating on one face combined with smoke, cream, and dendrites gives this chunk strong display presence as-is. A documented Quant collection piece of Oregon agate history.
