Ochoco Sunset Agate is an agate mined by Bill Quant in Oregon's Ochoco Mountains. It's a jasp-agate with considerable variety - it can have marcasite-like pattern, moss agate, fish egg patterns, and often features an attractive sunset-like scene with warm colors. It takes a quality polish, though some iron-heavy types may need treatment due to pits. Sadly, the miner Bill Quant has passed away, making this material a memorial to his rockhounding legacy.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
The bright orange flowing pattern with druzy pockets makes this a strong example of the variety this material is known for. From the legacy collection of an iconic Oregon rockhound.
