Lysite Agate also goes by the name of Wyoming Blizzard Stone. Lysite is found on Lysite Mountain in Wyoming. It's formed in a layer of silica-rich volcanic ash and often features quite a bit of variety making each piece unique. Lysite Agate often has lace-like banding and cuts some quite nice cabochons. It's a fairly hard one to find in this day and age. The variety and patterns keep collectors interested, as you never know exactly what you'll discover when cutting into a new piece.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
Rolling plume with blue agate is a particularly desirable Lysite look. The botryoidal top adds natural character that makes this a display-ready endcut from a now-elusive Wyoming source.
