Lucky Strike Thunderegg Rough – Nice Moss with Cool Cloudy White Wisp – Old Stock Central Oregon Half
This neat old stock half thunderegg comes from a Central Oregon collection and appears to be a Lucky Strike Thunderegg. Identification of thundereggs from the Rooster Rock area can be tricky, so this could also be one of the rarer types such as Desolation Canyon. Either way, it shows nice moss with cool cloudy white wisp.

Lucky Strike Thundereggs were originally found by an old-time rockhound, Leonard Kopcinski, who went by the name of Kop. Lucky Strike Thundereggs are recognized for their attractive mossy patterns, high rate of agate, and the potential for plume. They tend to take a quality polish and make remarkable display thundereggs once cut. They are mined in the Ochoco Mountains of Central Oregon. Other beds in the Rooster Rock area, like Desolation Canyon, can be difficult to distinguish from Lucky Strike without precise provenance.
