Botswana Agate is a rare agate from the country of Botswana, representing African lapidary excellence. It's becoming very difficult to find, as no new material is reportedly being mined. Botswana Agate is popular for beautiful banding and impressive colors. It takes a mirror polish and works easily for jewelry making. Whole Botswana nodules are rarest, sought for elusive pinks, purples, and bright blues. 90% of LapidaryCentral's Botswana Agates were collected and imported before the 1970s.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
Pieces this large are abnormal for Botswana Agate, where the dominant supply runs much smaller. The combination of deep blue, borderline purple fortification, and tube structures in old stock African material makes this a standout chunk.
