Jumpin' Jeep Agate is attractive old stock agate dug near the Painted Hills by Mitchell, Oregon. It has gone by many names throughout history - Mitchellite to locals, Jumpin' Jeep to the original miners, Oil Paint Agate in between, and Butterscotch Agate with modern claim owners. It often has oil paint-like patterns and can occasionally carry plume. The name came after the mine's parking brake gave way while loading boulders, and the miners could only watch their jeep bounce down the mountain.
