Flower Obsidian Rough – Flower Pattern with Red Streak – High-Grade Mexico
This stunning high-grade chunk of flower obsidian from Mexico shows the great flower pattern with a nice streak of red flowers running through it. The piece appears nice and stable and should cut well. Flower obsidian is a mix of obsidian and rhyolite that don’t always bond perfectly, so it sometimes needs treatment to cab, though we strive to provide the most stable flower obsidian possible.

Flower Obsidian is volcanic glass known by several names in the collecting community, including Starry Night Obsidian and Firecracker Obsidian. This Mexican obsidian features distinctive flower-like formations in white or pink colors. While it may require stabilization before cabbing due to potential fracturing, it remains stable in rough form or after cutting. This unique obsidian variety is mined in Mexico and offers collectors an interesting alternative to traditional black obsidian.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
The red flower streak is a standout feature - most pieces carry only white or pink blooms, making this nearly two kilo chunk a strong pick.
