Biggs Picture Jasper comes from northern Oregon along the Columbia River near Biggs Junction, representing one of the most iconic picture jaspers available. Multiple varieties exist from different mine operators, all considered classic Oregon material and among the finest jaspers available worldwide. The material often displays scenic valley patterns with dendrites resembling bushes or trees. Some specimens feature blues or purples adding depth to landscape scenes. Biggs Picture Jasper is considered the gold standard by which other picture jaspers are judged.
