Apple Valley Jasper comes from the same Sahara Desert location as Apple Valley Agate but is actually a fossil stromatolite, making it a fascinating specimen for fossil collectors. Stromatolites formed from cyanobacteria colonies trapped in sediment layers and are among Earth's earliest known fossils, dating back billions of years. This stromatolite jasper commonly shows bright reds with distinct banding and can feature hematite flowers that create eye-catching cabochons.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
The combination of hematite flowering, broken stromatolites, and fossil oysters creates exceptional geological complexity. The micro detail throughout makes this a premium specimen.
