Description

Here is a super rare slab of Badger Pocket Petrified Wood that shows a Petrified Wood Larvae within it, including multiple tunnels by the wood boring beetle.  It is very rare that insects are preserved within Petrified Wood, but the conditions were perfect that you can still make out both the tunnels and the grub that was within!  You can even see the segments within the grub and what appears to be materials within its digestive tract or frass!  This wood of this slab appears to be Sycamore.  Sadly one side does have a big lip, please view all photos closely.

The wood boring tunnel ranges in size from 2.25mm to 5mm.  Species of the Larvae is currently unknown.  This is a truly unique collectors slab, as petrified wood with a visible Larvae is pretty unheard of!

Badger Pocket was dug in washington, on what is now a firing range! This material has not been on the market for a very long time, and is extremely rare even without the Larvae present.

Measurements (inches - longest - approx): 5.4 x 4.3 x .28
