Description

In the winter of 2021, a new deposit of Coprolite was discovered at the Kaleidoscope Jasper Mines!  This type of coprolite is believed to be rhino scat, though it is nearly impossible to know for certain at this time.  It was a smaller fossil deposit that came to the surface, but a few specimens were collected and this would be one of those.  So far this coprolite has been well silicated and pretty similar to Utah Coprolite.  It is typically a caramel color, and seems to cut pretty nice and take a decent polish.  As with all coprolite, there is a chance that these could be some form of enhydates, though with them being found in a small fossil bearing formation, it is far more likely to be coprolite.  Either way, they are pretty neat!
